Introducing Kelsey McCormick: Photographist Extraordinaire

The LONECONE family is thrilled to welcome Kelsey McCormick and her restless camera to our rapidly growing talent roster! This ginger has a BA in Anthropology and Sociology from the College of Idaho, but her true passion has always been photography. It's what drove her to take over High Desert Photo from her grandfather, an aerial photographer in the pre-drone days when it was no small thing to get a quality aerial shot. High Desert now focuses on portrait, landscape and product photography work and her popular wood prints. Kelsey will put her skills to work here at the Conestyle Review and on the rapidly multiplying product pages of the e-store. She describes her journey in her own words,

"My relationship with photography began years and years ago, in eighth grade. My grandpa supplied me with a rusty SLR and off I went taking lame photos of shows, fake flowers, and stuffed animals. Thankfully, my photography grew as I did and it became a part of who I am, the girl with the camera. After college graduation I finally got the opportunity to find my niche, the outdoors, and people in the outdoors. There’s nothing better than waking up at 3:00am to photograph the stars over a desert river, or 4:00am to drive a couple hours and get that perfect landscape with sunrise orange mountains.

I believe that nature is a large part of who we are, even if we run around a concrete jungle all day. My photography is my favorite excuse to get outside and hang out with nature for awhile."
